STRIPED STYLE

I think stripes get a bad wrap. They are generally held responsible for either making us look fat, or like an off duty banker, which is quite unfair. Stripes have evolved. They’ve grownup. They’ve come of age. Stripes are actually chic and a great way to add a bit of sophistication to a simple pair white jeans, or in this case, harem pants. I’m not really much of a pattern person, so stripes allow me to break out of my solid world of color without having to delve into anything too crazy. This top is a mixture of vertical and horizontal stripes, so it’s actually quite flattering. I tend to tie my button downs at the waist, rather than tucking them in, because it allows me to camouflage my middle, where I carry my weight. It’s amazing how slimming a well placed knot can be. Now I just have to figure out how to get the darn thing untied! Note to self: learn how to tie a slip knot!

I agree with you that stripes get a bad wrap. Most of the time it’s not the pattern that makes us look one way or the other…it’s the fit & style! jodie

ps…why untie it? If you always wear it that way, id just take it off that way!!

  3. Don’t untie the knot. Just slip it over your head. Easy. You gave the world a very elegant picture to look at. So refined. Beautiful (and I love stripes).
