For me, cold weather weekend styling is all about slouchy knits. I like the ease of throwing on a look that’s casually chic, low maintenance and doesn’t require a lot of thought. Although the slouchy sweater is easy to wear, don’t be fooled into thinking that they’re all created equal. They’re not. It’s important to note that cut is key. “Slouchy” does not mean humongous. They should still accentuate the body, but in a relaxed way. I like knits that have an interesting neckline or sleeve. I think that there should be some element to the design that makes them a bit unique. Most of my slouchy sweaters tend drape in an interesting way, like this one I wore last summer. The wonderful thing about knits is that they come in all price points and can look luxurious even when inexpensive. Having said that, “bespoke knitting” is all the rage, so if you have the skill….use it! There’s nothing more chic than wearing a “one off” sweater of your own design.
