BLUE JEAN LADY

I’ve recently fallen in love with jeans all over again. Walk into any department store and somewhere in the corner there is a massive sea of denim just waiting to be discovered. I remember when the choices were simple: Lee, Levis or Wranglers. Well, times have changed. Denim isn’t just for cowboys and rock stars anymore. Jeans have become much more stylish and wearable. Now there’s a fantastic array of cuts, colors and washes to choose from. I usually wear jeans that have a bit of stretch to them because they tend to hold their shape more than traditional denim, which seems to stretch out after a few wears and then needs to be washed. I don’t wash my jeans. I wear my denim maybe a dozen times, and then send it to the dry cleaners. That way, they retain their shape and color for years. However, there is another way to care for your jeans. When I was in Japan last year, I learned that the cool kids in Tokyo, who invest substantial sums of money on limited edition jeans, don’t ever wash or dry clean them. Instead, they fold them up, put them in a ziplock bag and place them in the freezer! Apparently they come out feeling cool and crisp. I have to confess that I haven’t tried that method yet, I may be edgy, but I don’t think I’m ready to be quite that cool!

You look fabulous! I am with you on jeans. Soap and water for me, please. Your pictures are fun, too.

I love this look. I’m laughing about freezing the jeans. Here in southeastern CT we’re under a heat advisory and I think a pair of cold pants would suit me just fine. LOL However, there’s no way that freezing them makes them clean again.

I love your tie-dye jeans, especially paired with your black top and great shoes- such a cool look. I am a huge jean lover. Always love your fun photoshoot locations Dorrie! Haven’t had a chance to visit my favorite blogs much lately, so I wanted to stop by and see what you have been up to.
Love your stripe maxi in the following post too, especially with the hoodie. I am partial to stripes as well.

I hope you are enjoying your summer.

What do you mean you are not that cool yet? I think you are very cool. Like you I love jeans (just bought two pairs in Vancouver, one flared and one skinny). I try to buy and wear more skirts and dresses too as my legs are really my assets. But the last couple of years it is more trousers than dresses. Pity really.
