SWEATER STYLING
Well it’s official. Winter has hit Las Vegas and I’ve finally pulled out my snuggly sweaters. In the past, I’ve generally gravitated towards sweaters that are a bit oversized because I have a bit of a tummy and I prefer styles that I know won’t cling to my middle. However, I’ve recently started experimenting with a more fitted silhouette to see if that could possibly be more figure flattering. Here’s what I’ve discovered…..sometimes a fitted sweater is actually quite slimming. In this case, I chose a sweater that has some stretch to it, so it fits snugly but also gives where it needs to.
I usually shy away from patterns, but decided to give this fun geometric pattern a whirl for a change. What I like about this particular design, is the solid black panels along the sides and across the bottom, which create the illusion of a slimmer torso. I also loved the length. Since I’m vertically challenged, I like my sweaters to hit me at the waist or a little below, because longer tops tend to cut me in half and make me look like I have short stumpy legs….a shorter top, works to elongate the body.
There are so many different kinds of sweaters out there this season, so why not step out of your comfort zone and try some new styles? Those good old cardigans will still be around next season. I promise.

Lovely, great print…long and lean!
That’s what we little people strive for, long and lean
Terrific look and great tips for looking long and lean. I feel that clothes that are more tailored and body conscious without adding extra layers and draping are flattering to many women.
Thanks, I agree
This sweater is so interesting….just like you! And I love the addition of the scarf! jodie

Thanks Jodie I’m into mixing patterns this year.
I love color and patterns and you pull this off well, the hair the makeup and the attitude make this flawless…. and I can tell the difference in quality of the two sweaters, just from shopping a lot and know how knits are constructed and how they are dyed.
Yes Melissa, there is a big difference in quality but you can get get the “look” at a bargain price. Thanks for the compliment on the hair and makeup. It is really all about attitude!
Again.. amazing this sweater is by H&M. So nice. I like the geometric pattern too. Plus I am a fan of black and white. The J Brand trousers are super, aren’t they/

It is fun shopping at H&M with all of the teenagers and loud music. If you are a dedicated shopper like me, there are some treasures to be found. Love the J Brand fit too.
