ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
Out and about on a warm sunny day in California, headed to Gjelina, one of my favorite restaurants in LA, wearing a favorite look that is not only “ageless” but is also easy on the budget.
The focus piece is the dramatic orange silk batwing sleeve top by Vince Camuto. This style and color are flattering to most women and the Camuto line is affordably priced.
I’ve paired it with cropped white jeans, a hat and a statement gold necklace. The final touch is the snakeskin shoe and bag. Skin pieces are very “in” and while they can be quite pricey, as a good shopper you can achieve the look without the big price tag.
My “snakeskin” wedge sandals are by Athena Alexander and priced at around $50.00. The tote skin handbag is a favorite of mine and gets compliments every time it is worn. It has a “Nancy Gonzalenz” feel, but believe it or not, it was actually an Este lauder promotional giveaway at Saks Fifth Avenue a few years ago.
Don’t forget quality sunglasses. They are not only a fashion statement, but a fashion essential, as they protect you from harmful UV rays as well as framing your face in a modern way. Nothing “updates” your wardrobe like the right accessories. So if you must choose what to invest in. Start with a great pair of designer sunglasses in a neutral color.
Oh my gosh. Am I ever happy to find you! I just turned 60 last year and I am going crazy trying to find fashion inspiration for us grown ups. You are gorgeous. Love your style. Truly inspirational! Thank you!
