HAVING A BALL

A man in blue shirt and hat standing next to table.

Sportswear as a fashion trend has never really resonated with me. I live in heels and I’m not particularly a fan of the word “sweat.” If I’m honest, activewear has always struck me as a bit utilitarian, and not at all pretty or chic. I don’t know what happened, but something suddenly changed this season. Sporty clothing has become surprisingly cute and fashionable. No one has been more shocked by this turn of events than I have, I can tell you.

However, on a recent trip to the mall I stumbled across this cute, rather sporty top by Helmut Lang. I am not one to wear sweatshirts, or even t-shirts for that matter…. so this hoodie is a huge departure for me, and I’m mad about it! The great thing about fashion is that it can surprise you. Once you throw out the rule book about what is “age appropriate” and what is not, there’s a lot of space left for simply having fun with fashion…. and this top was definitely designed for fun! Now I just need to learn how to throw a ball without breaking a nail!

Cutest look! I too stay away from athletic wear stuff… I even had my new black quilted sweatshirt altered a little for a tiny bit of fit at the waist; I purchased it as I reeled at the thought of yet one more sweater in a Michigan winter. But this is cute! I’m a convert now. And those shoes…ooh la la. Careful of those nails!

Totally my approach to sport and sports wear. Unfortunately, little injuries drove me to the fitness school since I turned 50. I am now 61 and know I have to continue exercising twice a week till I die… sigh. But nice sports wear..?? Haven’t found it yet. Your outfit is lovely but not for indoors.

Love that top. Your shoe collection is insane.

I wear the same thing when I workout, black, black and more black. It is almost the only time you’ll catch me wearing that non colour. I guess it means I’m serious.

    bisous

I recently got into wearing activewear because I work at a Mindbody fitness studio. I love Lululemon pieces but that hoodie is so fun! I love the heels as well!

Honestly, I think you are HAWTER than all get out! I thought you were in your early 60’s when I first stumbled upon you online. Now that I know how many candles you’ve lit up, I am just simply bowing down and taking notes – I WILL be you when I grow up. Your style is so on point!

I, too, have to bow down to you! You look amazing. I especially love your Steve Maddden neoprene sandals – very cool!
