FALLING FOR CAPES
I’m officially obsessed with capes for fall. They’re incredibly versatile, add a bit of dramatic flair to any look and suit absolutely every body type. I stumbled upon this great fringed bottom dress at H&M, however it’s sleeveless, which posed a problem, because at 81, I don’t bare my arms anymore. So a cape was the perfect solution. There’s a fantastic selection of colors, fabrics and styles available at almost every price point, so there’s no excuse not to add a cape to your wardrobe for fall.
Cape: BCBG

Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
As usual, you look MAAAAHVELOUS! Love the cape, love the setting which mimics the colors in the cape. Is it your daughter who does the photos for your blog? Whoever it is, well done. I have a couple of capes/capelets from the last two years. Loft – black wool, Willi Smith at TJ Maxx flax-colored cotton (think poncho like in Clint Eastwood’s spaghetti westerns) and a tiny one I made from a flannel plaid. I will make a concerted effort to wear those babies this fall.
Thank so much, Diane. Yes, my daughter Jodi is my Photographer/Creative Director. She puts quite a lot of effort into finding great wall art and fantastic hidden spots in Downtown Las Vegas to shoot, so thank you for the lovely compliment. There are so many wonderful variations of the cape this season, I’m really going to have to resist the urge to buy too many!
Bellissimo!
Thank you, Melissa. I’m rather obsessed with capes this season.
Hello, I don’t think you look at your best in huge clothes. The orange cardigan doesn’t suit you nor do the Rossi shoes. They are way too large, your toe doesn’t even fit in. The cape is great. I think you do have a great body and the outfits in pants suit you best. You are really marvelous in the feather outfits with pants. Please, Do not hide your body in huge clothes.
